Olof is the restless son of a wealthy farmer. He meets Annikki and brings her to the evening dance. But at the dance he abandons Anniki for another girl, the maid Elli. Later that evening, the couple is surprised by Olof's mother. The next day, his father is angry about Olof being with a simple maid. In a small mine town north of the circle, Torsten lives, working with his sister Eva and comrade Lars, who is engaged to Eva. The town's bat-owner has a daughter, Märta, who, after trying out the big city life, has returned to the village for a while, and begins to flirt openly with Torsten, but also with Lars. Märta hears of an old gold treasure that will be hidden somewhere in the mountains, trying to seduce both of them and seek both friends to find out the treasure.

A couple of tramps conveniently help themselves to other peoples property. Considered the first Fyrtårnet og Bivognen (aka Pat und Patachon) film, except it has Aage Bendixen and not Harald Madsen, in the role as Bivognen.

There will be a crisis in Peter and Inga Billes marriage, when the house assistant Amanda is fired by Inga and it turns out that Peter does not believe her to be able to handle the household herself.
