Seven-year-old Fidgety Bram thinks a lot about the world around him. He is terribly excited about entering the first grade, but ends up in the class of Mr. Fish, the strict teacher. Mr. Fish, a straightforward teacher, is completely uninterested in the details of the world inside Fidgety Bram's mind and does whatever it takes to make Bram do things the "right" way. Bram's parents struggle with finding a balance between their son's happiness and his adapting to Mr. Fish's ways.

Slightly absurdist story about a busy working mother who is left to herself when her husband forgets about their family outing.
