The directors took three years to complete this 96-minute documentary of the works of Italian filmmaker Luca Comerico (1874-1940). The court photographer filmed the landing of Italian marines in Libya in 1911. Animal safaris to the South Pole, India, Russia, and Africa are also shown. The time-consuming task of the directors involved taking still photographs of more than half a million frames from the original film negative. This feature appeared in 1987 at the Chicago and Edinburgh Film Festiva (Dan Pavlides)

This organized compilation of archival footage is nothing less than a horror documentary. The images show destitute Austrian children in 1918, dead Russian children in 1920, the mutilated faces and shattered bodies of veterans of the First World War, Mussolini rising to power.... The filmmakers reverse the chronological order of events in order to bring to life a profoundly disturbing idea: the appalling casualties of today are born of the political monstrosities of tomorrow. Trasparenze (1998) - Short Film
The film is a work on film materials, an analysis of the physical substance of the cinema, about the fragile and perishable support, which is the film. Imagery yellowed, frames of an old Kodak film reduced to shreds are shown as precious relics. (Mubi)
