At football-mad Castoria College, Charlie Horse and Phil McCavity are two of the football team's players. Through sheer luck, they manage to lead their team to victory in the last game before graduation. Following graduation, Alma Matter, a pretty coed to who Phil is attracted, holds a reunion party at her parent's house. Alma has become an aviatrix and wants Charlie's help in getting her plane ready for a flight, as he has become a blacksmith who has supposed expertise in mechanics.

Billy works at a film studio where lots of things keep going wrong. First, while filming, the camera man and director nearly get dropped off a building. This stunt is funny and rather realistic. Second, Billy looks in a keyhole at what he THINKS is a lady taking a bath--and she's soon joined by a man!

Friends Billy Trotter and Homer Brown are both traveling salesmen who meet up at a hotel on their travels. Since they last saw each other, Billy has gotten married. Homer is lamenting still being single and thinks that he will never find a woman who will want to be Mrs. Brown. Billy gets one of his old girlfriends, Peggy, a telephone operator, reluctantly to set Homer up with one of her friends.

Ralph Graves plays a cabaret singer who is mistaken for a duke while courting society girl Ruth Taylor.

While somewhat happily married, Walter Moore's eyes do stray from time to time, especially when Tessie McNab is within his eye-sight range. But while trying to just be helpful to a damsel-in-distress, Walter's jealous wife suspects there may be some hanky-panky involved.

Gus and Slim are working at a circus that is owned by the domineering Steve Skinner. After Gus and Slim have botched up several routines, Gus takes off in a horse cart, in order to avoid Skinner's wrath. But the cart is pulling a large crate filled with lions, and soon the two circus hands find themselves in the middle of an uncontrollable situation.

St. Joseph, Missouri in 1859, is divided by a railroad track that separates the richer and poorer classes of people. From the richer side comes Ann Arnesen, daughter of Michael Arnesen, owner of the Pony Express. Michael hires Sam Cotton to protect his pony line from hostile Indians and the attacks of the gang of Peter Marquette, owner of a stagecoach line who fears losing his contracts to the pony riders. Sam finds himself in a difficult position because Michael's wife's in love with Marquette.

While robbing the stage with Jeff Johnson, outlaws Jordan and Wilkins kill the stage guard and leave Jeff unconscious on the trail, to be picked up by pursuing U.S. Marshals Tom Yeager and "Hungry" Rogers. Posing as an outlaw, Tom is put in the same cell with Jeff, and, with Hungry's help, stages a jailbreak and takes Jeff with him on the latter's promise to lead him to an outlaw gang head by the supposedly-dead Bill Moore.
