Charlie pretends to be a dentist though he is only his assistant. When a patient can't stop laughing from the anesthesia Charlie knocks him out with a club. He is sent to the drug store, gets in a fight with a man who (after a brick in the face) becomes another patient, and pulls the skirt off the dentist's wife (who is out walking). At one point Charlie pulls a tooth (the wrong one) using enormous pliers

He takes a room in their hotel, and she sleepwalks into his room so that when her husband returns from his walk he must go out again to look for her. After various tests she is finally rejected. Since this plan didn't work out she decides to join the kaiser-killers herself and so enters the recruiting station right next door. The first could not foresee that the second had placed a time bomb in the safe when he went to rob it. Likewise, the second could not foresee the other was going to pay a visit to the booty after he had planted the explosive. But worse, neither could foresee that a gang of burglars were contemplating carrying off the safe and that there were police loitering nearby.
