Tango legend Carlos Gardel plays the role of Carlos Acosta, a law student well known around the bars of Buenos Aires for his wonderful voice and charm, who is desperately in love with Raquel (Mona Maris), a femme fatale whose only interest is to seduce men.

Ricardo Fuentes (Carlos Gardel) departs from Buenos Aires to Barcelona, after having lost all his money in the horse races. But on his way there, a woman he fell for (Rosita Moreno) is involved in a theft that haunts him even after he settles down. Gardel's last film before his death in a plane crash, in Colombia, in 1935.

Julio Arguelles is the son of a wealthy Buenos Aires businessman. He wants to marry Margarita, but she is below his social status and his father is opposed to the union. (imdb)
