In the year 1961, in a provincial city in Kansai, Kenji, Hiroshi and Takao were classmates in middle school. Takao is a high school student, Hiroshi works as a truck driver, and Kenji wanders around. On the other hand Atsuko, Toshiko and Fukue who came from the countryside start working in the local spinning mill. However, Atsuko quits her job as a factory worker and becomes a waitress at a cafe. The three boys and three girls become friends after meeting at Atsuko's cafe.
