Cannibal Holocaust

Post by hotsake »

I've heard a lot of things about this movie over the years but the one thing I had rarely heard was just how well the movie was made. Yes there are animal deaths in this but its not as exploitative as it is in many other films. The killings shown had a purpose and the animals were eaten. Also as a type of justification of the violence on screen the film makers became increasingly irrational as they started to get a God complex which in turn made the violence that happened to them feel more justified and allowed the view to feel more shock instead of anger by how the movie ends. My biggest gripe with the film itself is the fact that I felt they should've left out the music during the found footage scenes as I feel it would've made them even more powerful, Also the found footage really helped to hide the budget limitations and added more realism to the special effects.
