More button not remembered when desktop browser is kind of narrow

Post by BadCosmonaut »

It seems that the movie page when using a desktop browser has about 3 or 4 different configurations depending on how wide the browser window is. For most of the configurations, the "More" button (that shows the expanded cast/director/writer/franchise/etc.) is remembered. However, if the browser is the width shown in the image below, then the "More" button isn't remembered, and it always defaults to not showing the more info:

Ugh, there's so much wrong with that screenshot.

Title "Saw V" is wrapped
Two advertisements are taking up lots of screen space
What information is actually shown? You want to see the cast and info. There's basically 5 names. That's it.

All the rest of the screen space is useless information.

This is how it looked before. Don't understand why you got rid of this

To add to comments about inefficient use of space in the new layout, there are massive gaps between the text of each mini review. Why does the date rated need a line break above and below? If the inside of the mini-review box already uses margin space, then why do we need additional space between boxes. You could fit entire reviews in the blank space between the text of one review and the text of the next!

I'm confident the old layout could've shown more than 3 mini-reviews per page at this scaling, since the review boxes weren't bloated like this. Not that there's even a way to test that anymore. Perhaps it's overly conspiratorial to suggest that the old layout was quickly killed off to prevent such unfavourable comparisons, but the introduction of more blank space doesn't make much sense to me either.

I can't remember if this issue was ever reported as fixed in another thread. If it was, then I wanted to report that the issue is back now.
