Instead of making a post here in the forum asking the admin to update the movie info, why not allow us to edit the movie info directly from the site, Wikipedia-style? i.e. anyone can edit, but only registered users can edit, and a history of edits must be maintained so we'll know who modified what. To be honest, posting in the forum to get a movie info updated is inelegant and also, not everyone visits the forums. The ability to edit the movie info from the main site itself would ensure more user participation since it's more "visible".
I know there's a slight possibility of this being abused, so maybe the changes submitted can go into preview mode and would be reflected on the site only after being approved by an admin?
..or you could have a set of good/serious users (e.g. those who have ranked > 500 movies) who can be Editors.

Re: Editing Movie Info Directly from the Main Page
Would not be a bad idea to relieve some of the workload for the admins, but if you're only going to give selected users this ability, won't you come to pretty much the same situation, where people who don't have this ability have to ask others to do the change.
I think if you want to go this way, the best solution might be the way the additions for new films are handled now aka only show the changes to the person who changed them (preview mode) and allow admins to quickly check if the additions are well done or not. But I don't know if this is actually possible given coding and the such, I think seeing as most of the people on this site are adamant to improve it, not mess it up, it might be a good idea to look into some kind of easier formula like this (I think the main motive should be lessening the workload of the owners of the site though, not the opening of more threads and the such, it still baffles me how much work they get done with the limited resources)

Re: Editing Movie Info Directly from the Main Page
This idea is one we've had for awhile now ... it's something we plan on eventually implementing, much in the way you've described. We'd allow users to update film info directly, but the updates would go into a queue so that moderators could "verify" and then "approve" it.
If a user were to abuse the system, it would be a pretty simple matter to remove that functionality for them.

Excellent. Thanks Mike. I hope the feature gets implemented soon.
