thanks for filling me in. I'm gonna refrain from voting this time out since I've never heard of any of the films on offer (and don't really have time to research them)...but I'll certainly try to watch the MOM for August once they've been decided...I like the idea of the thread.
I have never heard of any of those films so based mainly on PSIs I will vote for:
Anne of 1000 Days Man of the Century
Deadbeat at Dawn
Over Time Two Cars, One Night Struck
Some of the films in the collection look pretty bad (all red scores); just wondering why they are in there. Surely the MOM would have more keen participants if the films have largely green reviews, or at least a mixed bag.

+1. He wields his chalk mightily.
Hopscotch wrote:I only have PSI's for ten of them (nothing low), but I'm assuming the red ones you're talking about are: Cursed, Are You Popular?, and maybe Hercules, Infra-Man, and The Return of Dr. X. The reason I suppose is that I'm going out on a limb and hoping I found some genuine 'so bad they're good' flicks. A Possesed Convenience Store, an Informative Short about Popularity (from the '40's), a B-Epic based on Mythology, Kung Fu Mutants, and Bogart as a Mad Scientist all sound fun enough to me. Still I suppose you have a point and I'll work harder next month if I get the chance.
Are these films at your library? If not, there's bound to be blogs/forums that cater to this.
My DVD of One Armed Swordsman came today, so I watched it just a moment ago. But I just realised that in my country they released 1971 version under this title. Not a big deal since it was quite entertaining, but now I'm curious. Anyone knows what's the difference bitween 67' and 71' films? Is New Swordsman a remake or just another story with the same theme?
I haven't seen it, but it sounds like a whole different story. The pic for it looks a bit nasty though. He must have been a terrible swordsman to cut off his own arm like that. In the 67' movie it's an angry chick that lobs off the heroes arm. in scene prowler called ridiculous; it was pretty silly.
He wasn't terrible swordsman.
It was kind of a bet - who loses in duel, cuts off his own arm.
Overall, a pretty good picture, but it was too constricted by the rigid 1950's Hollywood system, which made for many cliche elements that hurt its potential. (Such as the nonsensical, overly happy, poor ending) All that being said, it was an interesting premise and a good script with some damn good acting performances.
Lee Van Cleef sure looked different as a clean shaven young man...
