Re: The Absolute Best of the Decade
My favourites of the decade are movies I really enjoy but when talking best of a whole decade it's really disappointing, they're great in my eyes but nothing even remotely close to a masterpiece or anything like that in prior decades the "best of" would be much greater films they're still excellent movies though, here's some of them not ranked or anything like that.
The Grand Budapest Hotel
Wreck-It Ralph
Whiplash
Gone Girl
Frozen (2014 Disney-there's a horror film too which is also good)
The Grey
Toy Story 3
Prisoners
Harry Potter & The Deathly Hollows Part 2
The Lego Movie
The Hunt
Edge Of Tomorrow
Hacksaw Ridge
Kingsman: The Secret Service
Risen
The Walk
Sound Of My Voice
I Origins
The Voices
The Good Neighbour
Nebraska
Big Hero 6
Zootropolis
We Need To Talk About Kevin
Source Code
The Artist
The Next Three Days
The Town
Unknown
There's a lot I still need to see so maybe it'll start to look better after I see some of the big ones left but I do like all of the films above just best of a whole decade should be even better I feel.

Re: The Absolute Best of the Decade
Probably the most underrated (blockbuster?) movie of 2014.

Re: The Absolute Best of the Decade
my obs is that the superhero/comic stuff seems to have iced the whole action/sci-fi genre.
maybe it was the matrix.
at least there's children of men - a somewhat actiony escort mission.
(and mad max - a baroque crust-punk wacky races)

Re: The Absolute Best of the Decade
Is the decade 2010-2019, or 2011-2020?
My four highest rated movies from 2010 are higher rated than anything I've seen from 2011-2020. Anywho, the decade was hot garbage, to the extent that I've stopped watching newer movies (unthinkable for me during the 2000s) and instead watch older fare, which is vastly superior.
Seeing people post best of lists featuring Her, Deadpool, or Moonrise Kingdom, which I've seen, makes me think I'm not missing much. None of those pictures are bad, mind you, and all were enjoyable enough, but they're all lightweight, forgettable flicks. And far from the best lightweight flicks at that.

Re: The Absolute Best of the Decade
I'd say there were a lot of bangers this decade. Though I feel the movies I'd put on the top of the list are far from what other people are picking. I wasn't big on Deadpool, Logan, Parasite, Knives out, most MCU movies etc. But there were excellent films in Birdman, Spiderverse, Moonlight, Blindspotting, etc. I feel with any decade you'll come across plenty of good films, but whether or not they have much popularity is another thing entirely.
