You're just making big assumptions. Too big. As a teenager I was playing Counter Strike and other FPS and in my life I probably met hundreds of kids who also played this kind of games. One of them after playing a lot wanted to go to army and fight. Others didn't. Out of hundreds of people who like films with children being killed probably one of them will be a potential child killer too. But that's not the reason to jump to conclusions with every single person who like these films. Sane people know the difference between reality and fiction, do I really need to explain that? And as a horror fan I understand Denizen's agressive answer. There are a lot of people who after hearing that you like horrors tell something like "You like seeing people getting killed? You must be sick." That's annoying and nobody wants to hear it over and over. If someone here is sick, you're posts are not going to change it anyway, so why bother?

You're right, they aren't designed to bring pleasure to the viewer. They're supposed to be shocking and disturbing. I just enjoy being shocked and disturbed by a good movie or scene. There's a difference there but I'm not sure you're seeing the subtlety.
