When a terrorist's body, infected with a stolen chemical, is recovered by the US military, the corpse is cremated, unintentionally releasing the virus/bacteria into the atmosphere over a small island. Soon the infected populace mutate into flesh-hungry zombies, and a trio of soldiers on leave must team up with a group of tourists and board themselves up in an abandoned hotel as they try to fend off the agile and aggressive living dead. The "sequel" to "Zombi 2"(1979), the Italian style "sequel" to "Dawn of the Dead"(1978), makes for an oddly watchable mess of boring horror/sci-fi B-movie schlock, ridiculous gore, and insane Italian zombie nonsense.

Needed more flying zombi(e) heads. Stuck around for the Deran Sarafian / Beatrice Ring commentary

This is a sloppy poorly made movie with generally badly done effects and piss poor dubbing. I do like how fast the weapon welding "Zombie-like" infected were. The soundtrack was suitably wacky and helped set the tone. Thee was some pretty cool scenes scattered throughout. It's a bad movie but it's reasonably entertaining none the less.

Somehow makes zombie kung fu, helicopter chases, and random explosions seem boring. I have no idea how they did it.

Talking zombies, fast-forward zombies, bird zombies, flying zombie head and more. To sum it up: FUN!!

Bruno Mattei directed this movie. Lucio Fulci fell ill right after he began making it. Anyway, this is bad.

The Fulci portion (the laboratory crap) sucked, and there was a whole lot of it, but the rest of it was pretty badass (read: hysterical) in an 80's sort of way. The zombie pond was kind of terrifying.

If I remember correctly, this is supposed to take place in California, but it is hilariously obvious they're filming someplace near the fucking equator. And that's like #1345 on the list of important things wrong with this movie.

Thank goodness this sort of thing is not considered George A. Romero's legacy, because if it was, a zombie apocalypse would be just the ticket for him in real life.

With plenty of irregularities and inconsistencies as result of the constant onset rewrites and extra shots with different directors, this is far from flawless. But at least it understands the basics of zombie suspense building with big slow approaching crowds interchanged with jump scares of suddenly appearing zombies. Kudos to the gross makeup, that offers enough to enjoy for the gore fans. Plus it has a flying zombie head!

This is incredibly bad, so bad I made it to the flying head, then couldn't take it any more.

A charmless rehash of the materials. The end is amusing, but also pretty hammy.
