Zero Motivation

Here are some of the things that make Talya Lavie's debut feature awesome: She deftly snatches the military genre away from its usual male dominance, and ducks a reverse Bechdel test. By writing "around" the film, she creates deep, rounded characters, with a psychological realism rarely found in comedies - which makes them all very human and sympathetic. Her sexual ethics are perfect, the acting is deadpan and well polished, and most importantly, I can hardly remember seeing anything this funny.

Say anything you want about this movie but "garbage can" held it down for me. Good shit.

Another comedy where I struggle to see the jokes

I liked the tone and there were some really great understated funny moments. I especially liked the main character's snarky little comments. The only thing that brought this movie down a bit for me was the pacing. It dragged at times and that clashes with the comedy. It's still a very likeable movie.
