It all builds to another fantastic showdown, sporting some of the best choreography of the series. Jimmy Wang brought a freshness of Chinese martial arts to the film, and Katsu's style blends well with it. It's a sad movie, but not overwhelming in its tone, leaving room for the series trademark silly humor and a heavy dose of style. I'm liking these more and more as I near the series conclusion

The added wuxia flavor makes this among the most vibrant Zatoichi films. What a fun time, just top notch choreography and cinematography. It's hilarious as well. Henoichi, the other blind and bumbling masseur, is the funniest comedic support the entire series has seen. The sheer display of violence also escalates; of course we've seen Ichi cut down entire rooms full of men on many occasions, but the bloodshed and dismemberment are taken to new levels of graphic indulgence here.

BlurayRip VXT.

Definitely among the best of the later outings, with a much clearer plot than the rest and the possibly the best action so far. Also there's finally a character other than Zato himself who is interesting and the ending is genuinely moving.

I haven't seen the One-Armed Swordsman movies, which is probably a good thing since I think crossovers are cheesy. As it is, this is one of the best Zatoichi movies; it doesn't attempt much depth but the story is generally good and the introduction of Wuxia elements is fun & refreshing.

Excellent Zatoichi film with a fun crossover casting of Jimmy Wang Yu. I liked that the Japanese and Chinese characters were unable to effectively understand each other, and the conflict in the film stems organically from miscommunication caused by the language barrier.
