Liar Liar 2. I quite liked it, Jim Carrey is good as always and the central point in it being as good as it is is the romantic subplot. The plot is ludicrous, the twists/developments are ridiculous, but damnit, I love Carrey. I do. Not laugh-out-loud hilarious, more a drama than a comedy in my opinion. Recommended if you like Carrey. Recommended if you at least like Carrey's dramatic outings. Avoid if you don't.

Jim Carrey is getting old and he is not as entertaining as he used to be. The film is nothing special, an ordinary stupid comedy, but I found it really hilarious at some parts.

Pretty good for what it is but not a great film. It's easy to take in and predictable as hell but whatever, it works. Zooey and Carrey have good chemistry and Rhys Darby is great.

There's some fun 2 b had watching where each "yes" will lead, but the narrative's a little 2 predictably Hwood high-concept as the film eventually falls in2 a series of fortune cookie aphorisms. 1 of the problems is that the script wants 2 keep things so light u never really get a sense of Carrey's loneliness. Since his buddies keep coming around he just seems bored. So there's no real sense of character growth; 1 minute he's a funny guy who says no, the next he's a funny guy w a full schedule.

Something really clicked with me here, I mean its not that good of a movie, but i found it extremely hilarious a lot of the time, all be it being extremely corny, especially with the standard cliche love story. If you like Carrey, give this a shot.

It never gets lame or sags; constantly solid writing from start to finish. I mean, realistically he probably would have gone broke but they did account for it with him also getting more money. The chemistry was excellent & characters were surprisingly well developed. Advertising is such that you could never *really* do this. As usual, advertising ruins most things. But that the movie knows that; acknowledging real politik sets it apart & grounds it. Explored the premise well given the run time.

By no means the worst kind of selfhelp romcom yackfest even though it trips on all its generic hurdles. It has a kinda nice "message" even though it's presented with cumbersome contrivance & weird manic unfocus. Carrey is able to be very charming or very annoying & falls right between them here in a way that kinda suits the material. The story lends itself to crazy comedy scenarios but is crippled by the tortuously familiar structure. I continue to be unable to stand Deschanel in a movie.

The central motif is well developed, as Carrey's charming Carl moves from melancholy conservatism to inspiring free-spirited-ness before a well-placed stick in the spokes adds nuance to the message (see the "no" in his ex's apartment). The romance narrative isn't as impressive; it's formulaic, with a predictable fall out (the FBI twist that instigates it also seems far fetched), though Carrey and Deschanel have decent chemistry. Darby's hilariously nerdy Norman is a notable supporting character.

This movie is pretty fun. The story is entertaining for the majority of the time (the ending is a tad weak). The laughs are constant but there aren't many big ones (the fight scene stands out). The acting is good, and while it's nice to see Rhys Darby get work, no one is really stepping out of their comfort zone (Zooey Deshanel as the quirky girl? NO WAY!) Ultimately the experience is forgettable until someone brings the movie up and then you say, "Yeah that movie wasn't too bad."

I don't remember the last time I actually enjoyed a Carrey movie (maybe Dumb and Dumber), but this movie was alright. Carrey really did have me laughing in some spots. Now I can't say the same for my date's viewing of it. Finally he is able to reign in his physical comedy, and in the one or two points where he did go over the top I actually found it funny. The rest of this cast (minus Darby) is blah, but who cares. Nice surprise. Jim really "carrey"d the film.

I was alittle worried to see this movie because as a kid I always loved the Jim Carrey comedies and I felt that he might be washed up, but I was very surprised to find that it was actually good. I think one of the main reasons I loved this movie is because I love Zooey Deschanel.

Another feel-good Carrey extravaganza. Through the stupendous plotline and unconvincing but often amusing distractions, it still feels slightly more like a drama than a usual comedy, something which helps it seperate itself a bit from it's kin. Although Yes Man relies more on script than the usual Carrey visual comedy, sometimes this causes it to stutter between one scene to the next. Underneath though it's nothing more than a vehicle, or even an excuse, for more of the usual crazy antics.

This was better than I remembered it being. Perhaps it was because I was younger and watched it around an overly sensitive parent the first time, but when watching on my own this time, I enjoyed it a lot more. No, it's not one of Jim's best, but it's still pretty fun, and I love Zooey Deschanel. Wish she would be in more movies.

The characters are mostly likable and thisis an OK movie. The message got undercut for me due to the too-literal interpretation of saying "yes." The point would obviously be to say yes to opportunities, not to agree with every last thing anyone asks or suggests. It's impossible to say yes to everything since some things are mutually exclusive.

It's far from the worst things Jim Carrey has been a part of... that doesn't make it good though. Jim Carrey's charm and style had simply run out of gas by this point in time, so what's left is extremely straightforward and predictable.

I think the idea that risks should be something we take more of is a cool concept for a film but I think Jim Carrey oversells that and makes it seem beyond ridiculous. It could have been better with a more focused narrative and less slapstick mentality. Oh well. Another opportunity squandered in comedy.

Yes Man is a return to slapstick comedy for Jim Carrey, a genre he runs from even though he is perfect in these types of movies. An amazing cast of people follow him on this journey; Zooey Daschanel, Terence Stamp, Molly Sims, Bradley Cooper, Rhys Darby, and so many others. I wasn't really sure what to expect from this film because I never really heard that much about it but it is just as great as Bruce Almighty and his earlier work in the genre. I will definitely watch this movie again.

Yeah right, great morality there, do stupid things and life will give you an oh so randum quirky partner and happiness. Yes Man is an average Jim Carrey film and although the concept is stupid there's still enough enjoyment to be had. There are definitely vibes of both 'Bruce Almighty' and 'Liar Liar' but Jim Carrey never fails to make me laugh. I always enjoy Zooey Deschanel too and even though her and Jim Carrey are an odd and unlikely pairing, there is some fun chemistry. The soundtrack is decent also but it's the bizarre fictional band Muncausen by Proxy that steal the show.

Entertaining comedy is certainly far more restrained than Carrey's manic efforts in the mid-90s and is more likable in its way, however after a terrific start and establishment of the premise (with distinct echoes of GROUNDHOG DAY), it settles into a conventional rom-com formula and becomes somewhat tired, despite fine performances by Carrey and Deschanel. Certainly fun for those of us who remember Carrey's short-lived reign of the box-office!

Yes Man is a decent romantic comedy, but could have been improved upon had its lead character actually had some sort of reluctance to saying "yes" to every situation that passed his way. It becomes too predictable and cliché by the end, and although it's got a good message that everyone can draw from, it's not funny enough to be called a good comedy. It also mismanages its cast, with the more interesting characters getting pushed to the side so Jim Carrey can be the star.
