I watched this the day after “Second Act” and found it to be the stronger of the two. It's another funny concept which might have worked better as a short film or required more work to add depth as I thought that there was potential to take it even further. It seems to me that Duplieux is an idea-guy who could benefit from a co-writer to develop his work. Still, he has carved a niche for himself, and I enjoy seeing his films in festival lineups as a refreshing break between more serious films.

As often with Dupieux's films, magnetic concept not fully developed into a feature -- and I know we shouldn't be complaning much about any film with less than 90 minutes, but this really could've used some more ten min or so. Either way, gotta love the section where the commuter is kinda winning the crowd while the actors are rehearsing the play he's just written -- and that, of course, will be better than the one was being presented. Didn't quite get the ending, but found it lame anyway.

Deserves a better ending and better script for yannick’s thought process. I truly sympathized with him and his quest for a meaningful time.

Yakarım bu tiyatroyu. 1 tiyatro oyununu sevmeyen seyircimiz, oyunu sabote eder. Filmin sonunda, polisler. Hayat öyle 1 oyun ki ah. Ne rolü var ne sahnesi.

Armed with a brief runtime, snappy pacing, an amusing premise, some good acting (especially by Raphaël Quenard and Pio Marmaï) and good humour, "Yannick" is pleasant, occasionally hilarious, rather ridiculous and a breeze to sit through. The restricted setting is handled well even if it's hard to believe that the entire play is run by the three actors without any crew people whatsoever, and the meta commentary on art is interesting even if it doesn't go particularly deep and doesn't end in much.

1h07 ? It's more expensive at the minute than an oil change, and it's not as enjoyable...
