Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings

Well...we're at #4 in this franchise and I can't really say there is anything new here except for that we are placed in the winter. These have gotten so bad to a point where they aren't really enjoyable. It's more laughable that they continue to make them, but you really can't blame them if they're still making money. I just wish this didn't try so hard to funny. Wrong Turn 4 is just bad in almost every way possible, but it somehow isn't the worse movie ever.

A group of asshole douchebags who all clearly deserve to die get lost on a snowmobile trip, and end up trapped in an abandoned asylum with three inbred cannibal hillbillies, where nature takes it's course. So formulaic I correctly predicted the exact order of all the deaths but one, but it's packed with really nasty gore if that's your bag. I feel pretty stupid for being worried that I wouldn't be able to follow the story without having seen the other movies in the series.

If you've stuck with the franchise this far, you know sophistication and originality are not its strong points, but even parts 2 and 3 managed to be serviceably entertaining. Trust me when I say none of what you've seen prepares you for the astounding formulaity and stupidity that is Wrong Turn 4. For a big studio production it is amateurishly directed, acted and designed, and every turn is seen coming a mile away, but the absolute worst is the literally suicidal dumbfuckery of the protagonists.

There's nothing particularly distinctive about Wrong Turn 4, except to say that it's the fourth film in this franchise, and it isn't very good. It's tough to tell each of the characters apart, as there's no characterization that allows us to differentiate them from one another. The murders are ... okay, I guess, so there's that. And the acting isn't painfully bad. But, really, there's no point for this film to exist, except to revive the main cannibals and set them loose on another group.

Wrong Turn Babies for 10 minutes. Declan O'Brien was probably thinking the entire time "I'm so good, I'm so fucking good at movies". I bet what went down was the studio execs were all "Hey Bill what's that retarded son of yours doing this winter?" (That one guy's scream when his girlfriend gets garroted is the FUNNIEST THING of 2011. Wait, nope. It's the tramp stamp tattoo the one guy has. ) "IM THE STRONGEST SKIER!" CUT TO: Character trudging with ski poles. This movie is hilarious.

Yuck. Not only do I really hate cannibalism but also extremely stupid people. These guys were just - wow. Especially that dumb brunette who suddenly goes all philanthropist.

WHY! Why are the characters so stupid, why is everything so stupid, why did my brain go back to the Stone Age watching the stupidity of the characters and the writers and everything having to do with this piece of shit, WHYYYYYY! I guess on to Wrong Turn 5, then. :D

Surprisingly better than 2 and 3

There was some sort of play with sexual connections between some characters, but was there any storyline involved? I cannot remember any. There was neither decent gore parts; they were mostly ugly CGI. I remember I kind of liked the end: thank God it's over.

Holy mother of god. I have seen some bad shit but this...Really I'm not sure if I'm more surprised by how bad it was or by how high the ratings are (or that I actually watched it).

Strangest storyline ever... Once I thought I knew who the main characters were, I was caught off guard and they were killed off.. so I had to start picking 'main characters'/possible survivors again haha.
