Windjammer: The Voyage of the Christian Radich

An odd mix of Cinemiracle (aka not-Cinerama) spectacle, documentary, and obviously staged sequences, WINDJAMMER may offer only mild (if pleasant) entertainment in of itself, but for sailing buffs and students of film history, it's fascinating, and moments like the NYC montage (produced by Weegee, of all people) are genuinely inventive. There's a lot of good music, from calypso and classical to Morton Gould's fine score, and the cinematography provides some choice images.
