A neat premise and a very interesting protagonist but the movie never really comes together properly. It's alright but nothing great.

Less a film about a modern-day Dr. Doolittle, more a portrayal of acute schizophrenia projected through common household rodentia. That, and well, Crispin Glover acting batshit crazy for 100 minutes.

Willard is a very relatable antagonist. However, this is a filler movie. I laughed so hard when the rats came in. So pitiful.

Okay movie .......Well wait who am I kidding? The most memorable thing is Crispin Glover screaming like a high school girl

Disappointing, I expected something far more original and captivating. Instead I've seen something that could as well be a movie for children if it wasn't for the sad ending and one killing scene, and the death of the mother. But really it was nothing special according to me, a social misfit "getting revenge" is nothing new.

Gotta love Crispin Glover. This is the perfect role for him. R. Lee Ermey was also great as his usual abusive self. On the downside, deliberately campy to an annoying degree.

Really the only point of this movie is to remind you that Crispin Glover is creepy as hell.

Weird movie with all those rats but I found it pretty good and enjoyable. The performance of Crispin Glover was excellent.

Willard is by far the most relatable antagonist in modern cinema, other than that this movie is sub-par in nearly every other aspect.

Willard is certainly not going to be for everyone, but if you like the sort or quirky, over-the-top horror movies, you should enjoy this.

One of Crispin Glover's best performances ever! This movie wasn't the horror fest that some people thought it would be, but instead, it has heart.

A fine Crispin Glover performance in a so-so movie about a young man who talks to rats.

I wish they had played this more straight up than over the top fluff. Glover is perfect in this role.

"Willard is unlikely to win rats any fans but their relationship to Willard is both frightening and strangely endearing, not unlike Glover's performance." - Ed Gonzalez

Silly and schlocky horror elevated by some stylish work by Morgan, and perfect casting of Glover, Ermey and worryingly emaciated Burroughs; as a showcase for these three often marginalised support players, it is absolutely tops with all 3 having gleeful fun playing to the cheap seats, and even bringing a credibility to the admittedly absurd mice (though that Ben is a savage bastard!) Nicely done mild horror, with a rich vein of black comic sensibilities which makes it kind of delightful.

Willard portraited like an inmate from Arkham Asylum. I just like the similarity of comic books.

Crispin Glover was great and creepy, R. Lee Ermey was his usual over the top self. The rest of the film was... kinda boring actually.

DVDRip DEiTY

Glover anchors this respectable but unremarkable remake when Morgan gets lost in camera tricks and the predictable machinations of his own screenplay. Stylistically it's somewhat comparable to Burton---even the score has Elfman's bombastic hallmarks---but the contrast between Willard's 'eccentricity' and the world around him is not really sharp or astute enough to make this any more than a story about an oddball who goes nuts due to life pressures and setbacks.

A few sloppy effects shots, but the performances and overall aesthetic are spot-on. Crispin Glover as a lead is always magical. When he's playing support, he tends to seem underutilized, stealing the spotlight away from the main characters whenever he appears. But this role is perfect for him. This film is not for the squeamish, but the gothic look and abundance of vermin will please anyone who loves to be creeped out.
