This movie might have the highest '(dumb) plot twist to running time' ratio of all time. It tries really hard to come off as cool and sexy for a while before giving up and just throwing out all sense of logic, making for a highly amusing final act. Biggest laugh came from Matt Dillon showing up in a car which is supposed to make him look hot and desirable, while loudly playing Smash Mouth's 'Why Can't We Be Friends'. Ah, the 90's.

Extended cut. Another film that is so much in popular culture that I've put off watching. It's too bad since besides the sexy scenes there is a decent bit of tension. There are so many plot twists but they are simple and easy to follow. Only bad piece of acting is Theresa Russell's line readings that don't show any chemistry w/Richards. Fav scenes: Bill Murray; I don't remember specifically what, but Kevin Bacon at one point makes a wide-eyed shocked reaction to something.

While Denise Richards was the one who had a career that only lasted from 1997-1999, it is Campbell who has zero chemistry with the rest of the cast. Dillon, Richards, Murray, Kevin's Bacon, they all seem to be having a good time but this sweaty pulp isn't as clever as I remember.

Taking cues from neo-noir/thriller/erotica of late 80s/early 90s, it is its own beast. There is NOTHING else like it. The switching of protags (and genres) throughout is brilliant and deftly manipulates the viewer just as "The Players" fuck each other over. The vicious schemes and mind games are inspired and exhilarating to watch unfold. The stunning hyper-stylized world and decadent melodrama with a mean bite keeps drawing me back 16 years later. TOTAL FUCKING MASTERPIECE.

Last year I gave this a 25 on account of it toeing the line between knowing and stupid far too often. But on a rewatch I find the film to be much sharper than I gave it credit for. It's a consistently sleazy and cynical satire of an erotic thriller - it's every cliche and twist in the book pushed up to 11 and it revels in it. Endearingly nasty and tacky, and so much fun scenery chewing I can't help but be impressed. Props especially to Bill Murray, who has far too much fun. Kevin Bacon too!

This movie was really hard to believe, but the racy story and incredibly hot sexy women go a long way to overshadow its shortcomings. The action never stop in this wild ride. Proof that crime can pay, that is, if you are smart enough. Beauty, treachery and deceit from beginning to improbable end. A thrill ride if you can overcome the obvious flaws. Just when you think you've got it all figured out, the plot twists like a pretzel again. Great surprises and interesting performances.

Ham-handed thriller that gets more and more ridiculous as the twists start piling on. It does make sense in the end but the way it's filmed jars you out of it. Bill Murray provides intentional comedic relief, while everyone else provides unintentional comedic relief. Seriously, if this was intended as a comedy it would be one of the best. Bacon's reaction to Campbell and Richards' famous "scene" is the hardest I've laughed all week.

Si tu sais pas encore si tu es homosexuel, installe toi devant ce film, et regarde Dillon dans les yeux, mon caleçon avait très vite gonflé, et il gonfle encore. Le film à un tel niveau d'érotisme assumé, que c'en devient difficile à suivre. Et il y a trop de rebondissements.

A movie in the vein of an "Elmore Leonard" type of dirty crime story that's plot just isn't engaging on retrospect. This movie made its claim by being racy and the infamous motel scene but as a movie it feels lifeless. Each "twist" feels unearned, under-explained, and not as fun as the movie wants them to be. Overall not a movie I would re-watch, if you are looking for nudity there are better ways to get it, and the rest of the movie feels direct-to-tv with a better than needed cast.

If this were to come out now all the nitpicking armchair critics would cream their jeans with this film. Yes, it may have plot holes and sometimes be a little far fetched but who gives a fuck, it's pure entertainment. The cinematography is good with really good locations that fit the movie well. All the twists and turns keep the viewer entertained and the acting is good for the style going on. Now let me watch this again and cream my jeans for a different reason.

I wouldn't have rated this movie 70 if it wasn't for the numerous twists and turns in the plot towards the end. Shortly into the movie you know there is something fishy going on. However, there no way you can predict how it ends. All the characters in the movie have an almost equal amount of screentime but I guess the people who stand out are Dillon and Bacon. Bill Murray is at his best in the little role he plays. It ain't a must watch by any means but you won't regret it if you do watch it.

I'm kinda irritated at myself for liking this movie so much. It's all kinds of terrible for the first 40 minutes and I almost switched it off. In the end, the sex and the promise of twists in the plot kept me going. I don't think I even decided it had been worthwhile until the credits sequence... and I really think one should know before that! Ah well, a little Bill Murray goes a long way... to helping me recommend this movie.

Steamy crime thriller with some of the sexiest scenes. I actually liked Richards in this film and all four leads had a good chemistry. Creative ending makes this very watchable--stick around after the credits. Highly recommended!

Amazing! Performances aren't perfect (Bacon is as solid as usual, though) but many of the characters are supposed to be acting anyway, right? The script is bloody awesome, with enough narrative deceptiveness to match the scheming ways of the players, entangled in a deadly game. You'll find few thrillers, if any, with as many unexpected twists and turns as 'Wild Things'. Hell, how can one but marvel at the audacity to cram in several extra surprises during the end credits?! criminally underrated.
