Intricately moving back and forth in time and revealing the story from each character's perspective, Wicker Park is an intense psychological drama about a man (Hartnett) caught in an obsessive search for a woman he fell deeply in love with -- a woman who then vanished without a trace. (MGM)

The intricacies of this non-linear narrative fail to conceal that it is at bottom a rather silly movie.

A remake of the French movie "L'appartement". Not so good and
not easy to understand. I don't understand why they
make movies like that : at least 10 times moving back and forward in time.

Slippery mystery thriller is fun for a while, especially with a game cast playing off-kilter angles to their usual personas: Hartnett a great, dogged anti-hero, Lillard an open-faced dupe, Byrne as… well a redacted spoiler I guess. It’s a shame that McGuigan’s handling of a too-clever-by-half screenplay is needlessly complicated and convoluted – there’s a nifty noir hiding in here that would play much better told straightforward, rather than making so much work for its not insubstantial rewards.

Remake of french movie L'appartement. Well, usually remakes fail if the original movie is good and ... lets say original. So happens here. Film's space and soundtrack are excellent but this is not saving whole movie. Still watchable, though.

A twisted story of obsession and love at first sight. Rose Byrne plays a love stuck girl who uses deception to obtain the object of her desire. She betrays her best friend and uses his best friend for a chance to win him. Convoluted, but it tries to display the power of seduction, love and obsession. Josh Hartnett and Diane Kruger are beautiful together. Rose is scary and intense but also gorgeous. Unfortunately the details are rather unconvincing.

I had quite a good time with Wicker Park. It was a little long, and had a couple of pointless scenes, but I got involved in the (sometimes confusing) story and enjoyed myself for the most part. It works because its characters are realistic and well-acted. The constant flashbacks make it a film worth talking about, but the characters are the stars that makes it memorable and worth re-watching even after the puzzle is put together for you.

"Hartnett is far too stolid to convey the frazzled desperation required by McGuigan's soporific romantic mystery Wicker Park." - Nick Schager

Rose Byrne gets this film a 5 all on her own, she's nothing short of captivating. Otherwise more like a 3.

This is the hollywood version of "L'appartment" Yes, Chicago can never be a match for Paris and maybe Diane Kruger can't be a match for Bellucci. Besides, this one has hollywood ending, but i still found this film good.

After reading the description of this movie I kind of want to see it again, because I'm pretty sure when I saw it I wanted to leave because I did not understand what was going on. Maybe my mind can handle it now.

Apparently if you have a cell phone, you can perpetrate a great deception, if everyone around you is as gullible as a third grader. This isn't a psychological drama, it's a contrived piece of bullshit full of self indulgent wallowing. If you like that kind of BS watch this movie and then shoot yourself.

I liked this film for what it was worth. Saw it late at night one night when I used to have premium cable channels. The story is not original, and the acting is nothing special but I thought it was alright and it kept me interested the whole running time. The ending was suitable and didn't have any stupid twists like I thought it was going to when it actually did get to that point in the film. Its worth a look if its on TV or if you are looking for something at the video store and can't decide.

Not as bad as I thought it would be when I was finally forced to watch it. That said, entirely predictable, I've heard the French original is better (and with a different ending)
