Don't Look Now but I can think of a movie that aped this quite a bit.

I usually don't complain about acting, but guess here it sort of prevented me from liking it a bit more, specially when we have such an overcomplicated plot for an overcrowded cast. That said, pretty bold giallo from start to finish -- SPOILER: gotta love when priests are the bad guys, huh? --, with good use of Venice as a ghostly beautiful place of corrupt, wicked people on every corner -- eerie score helps a lot in this regard.

Great little giallo that hits most of the spots you want hit by the genre and is elevated by a superior creepy choral-heavy Ennio Morricone score. The killer's theme, especially, is great, with the overlapping arrangements giving it a creepy edge. Beautiful locations and really well shot with an excellent atmosphere,, though perhaps a tad over-convoluted and the whodunit resolution feels a bit random (though maybe I missed some clues.)

A bit too slow even for me but when it kicks into higher gear it's pretty reliable. Has two Bond actors, ha ha! Oh and that Morricone score is super creepy.

Diria que eu teria gostado mais se não houvesse uma obra-prima chamada Inverno de Sangue em Veneza lançado um ano depois deste aqui cujos elementos têm muito em comum. Box Versátil Giallo Volume 8.

The mystery is surprisingly good and the are a few tense moments. I really didn't like the score and found it distracting and annoying rather then enjoyable or enhancing to the scene. The film is also a tad too long and tends to drag at times. I loved the settings with the old derelict buildings and the boat taxis.

I liked it. Would make a good double feature with 'What have they done to your daughters?' I enjoyed the score

Rewatch. I only remembered that this was good, & who the killer was. It was even better, top giallo and based on this and ”Glass dolls.” Lado was very good in utilising his locations; Venice in this case. It’s hard to believe that Roeg & co. wouldn’t have been inspired by this on "Don’t Look Now". It has a very suspenseful atmosphere and Morricone’s theme is used to great effect every time the killer is on the move; it’s agonising to witness the daughter being stalked by the killer

Incredibly tawdry, but surprisingly well-made. Morricone's score isn't as good as some of his others, but still not at all bad and very plot-appropriate.

A figure clad in black grips a knife. It plunges into a man's chest. A fiery explosion of blood. "La-la-la-la-la" goes the music.
