Did Hot Chocolate help finance this movie? A nice little south western killer thriller with some great locations and shots, it's too bad the pacing doesnt keep up with it. Ending is bonkers, so baby it's worth it in the end

Off the beaten track in terms of its genre, and often regards the familiar tropes with an indifference which may, at times, hurt the story. But most notable is how aesthetic the film is, imbued with an unfamiliar stylistic indulgence every now and then. A satisfying conundrum.

I liked this a lot until that dumb, outrageous finale that upends all that the movie built up. Too bad since the cast is good.

I can see where the "English giallo” comments are coming from, and especially the murder scenes are Argento-esque. Mainly this is a thriller that takes place in Arizona and has a distinct small city mood although the director was English. It’s a real pity that his life & career didn’t last longer as it’s a very original film even if it’s not 100% successful. I also admired how the script played with your expectations and kept you guessing. Plus points for 80’s HI-Fi details.

Thrilling and impressive for the way it never stops being surprising, and for its careful balance between hilarity and horror. Towards the end of the film, in a murderous rage, the villain starts yelling about how much he hates U2, and it's not even close to the strangest thing in the movie.
