It's hard to fairly judge a 100 year old film but this one is pretty captivating and well made, if a little odd in the portrayal of its subjects.

I was impressed by the staging and stunts if not by the story.

I appreciated what it was doing even if it took some odd turns. Highly violent subject matter, which I suppose was a high sell then, too.

Enjoyable on 1910 terms; works as an action movie with a decent fugitive chase sequence. Earliest depiction of self-harm I've seen (a woman stabs herself).

The first Native American film is an oddball which casts its own people almost dutifully as the heavies. It seeks out some kind of reconciliation, but there's an uneasy self-loathing going on. The chase scene is really terrific, though. It's got a great cliffside centerpiece that has a Buster Keaton feel.
