It has a funny moment here and there, but the remake with Skelton is infinitely better.

They say the 1941 Red Skelton remake is better, but this was fun too. In the lead we have Ernest Truex, doing his first talking role. He was a famous theater character back in those days and didn't look 100% comfortable in front of the camera, but he still had a that comic quality going and plays off well with his leading gal Una Merkel! Together they run into a little trouble and ends up being forced to help plan a murder. Edward Arnold is an effective heavy.
