Where Hope Grows

32 points, not just because the emotional weight is laid on way too thick (as well as the music), but mostly because I thought it was very disrespectful for the script to only have the name 'Produce' for DeSanctis. 32/100.

This is clearly a low budget production. Not that that is automatically a bad thing, but it simply shows in the small details. I liked it as a good reminder/good morale movie, but it's too bad that the "Produce" character was so underdeveloped. And the name "Produce" - poor... I liked McKaley Miller in this. *Okay

Though the movie gets increasingly melodramatic as it swerves toward its emotional conclusion, much of the story before its jarring finale is more mundane, involving successive conversations between Produce and Calvin at a supermarket. It's the stuff of everyday life used to demonstrate how one person's good-heartedness, right in the middle of all that normalcy, can produce a hugely transformative influence. (pluggedin.com)
