Frank Grillo has finally landed a couple leading spots in recent years, and I'm a fan, but it seems that B-movie action star is as far as he's going to get. "Wheelman" is a by the numbers thriller that is perfectly competent, fairly well executed, and definitely bland.

The movie takes place almost entirely in a single car, and it's to such an extent that it made me wonder why they decided to abandon the gimmick so close to the end. Either go all the way, or just don't even have that gimmick. It's also brought down a bit by the fact of characters spending so much time on the phone, but it mostly works well for what it is.

This is an exciting film. The script is not overly complicated but it works. Frank Grillo is good in the lead role. Overall I would recommend this thriller.

Basically this is Steven Knight's 'Locke' injected with an American crime plotline. Unlike the Tom Hardy movie, the protagonist does leave the car briefly a few times as well as carry some passengers, but otherwise it plays very similarly for most of the runtime so if you didn't enjoy 'Locke', best to steer clear of Wheelman.

A regular Thriller but the cast and the production add a lot to it.

The twisted plot is full of the unexpected. Frank Grillo holds his own in this tense thriller with enough action and suspense to keep you interested throughout. There was a sharp contrast between the family drama and the criminal activity. The production quality was good, but the music was very good. Worth watching.

Like 'Locke' mixed with any number of 'decent guy has to drive for criminals because he's in a bad situation' movies. The main character really isn't likable which takes away a fair bit of tension and makes it hard to gain any attachment to what is happening. Shea Whigham and Garret Dillahunt are two of the best character actors working today so it's good to see them in the same film.

Locke, Drive, Baby Driver ve The Transporter'ı ilginç biçimde harmanlayan, bu filmlerin kayda değer bir türevi olmayı başaran Wheelman, sürükleyici ve çok da keyifli. Netflix'in az sayıda olan 'iyi' orjinal filmlerinden biri. Vakit geçirmek isteyenler için sağlam alternatif.

A lot of comparisons to locke, but this is fundamentally different enough not to warrant calling it any kind of rip off, that style that both films share should really be considered a "genre" over all, because the style could be used so broadly it shouldnt be held down to only one narrative. Think less locke, and more pure individual in a real time situation focused crime action. I look forward to many more "follow this one person around the whole time" movies.

This is like if they took Phonebooth, turned the intensity down a few notches, and purposefully left the background vague without resolution. Disappointing but I appreciate the concept, and hope somebody will do this kind of movie better.

An ex-con just wants to complete one more job so he can quit his debt with the mob. But he receives a call from a mysterious man menacing him and his family. He runs away with a bank robbery money and starts a mob war while driving in the streets through the night. Not particularly emotionally engaging, but well shot and Grillo delivers a solid performance as a flawed. father/husband just trying to get through the day. As far as one-location thrillers go, this is more skillful than Locke.

It seems longer than its quick run time and I couldn't keep track of who's who on the phone, but this is a decent thriller.

If you decide to make a film where there is only one character on screen for the most part you need a good actor. Frank Grillo is not. Besides this the script is not very good
