We're Not Married!

Victor Moore accidentally marries away couples when he wasn't allowed to, so we follow five stories of how this affects the now unmarried. My favorite was the gold digger one featuring Louis Calhern and bubbly blond Zsa Zsa Gabor. Speaking of bubbly blonds, the story featuring Marilyn Monroe & David Wayne was short and sweet. The main event, was the dry, but still genuine romance between Fred Allen & Ginger Rogers. Set the tone from the start and got to close off the movie too on a high note..

This is a fun little anthology/ensemble piece with a lot of fun names in its cast--Ginger Rogers, Marilyn Monroe, Paul Douglas, Louis Calhern, etc. One main flaw is that as soon as you started getting drawn into a story it would flip to another one and never flipped back to the others until the very end. Like most anthologies, some stories are more interesting than others, but they're all interesting enough. Be on the lookout for an uncredited Lee Marvin in an early role.

Lighthearted comedy made up of several stories tied together by a silly technicality.

Fred Allen in the movie said he was 44 and I had to laugh because he looks a lot older than 44, just saying. Ginger Rogers was marvelous from the very first scene just wish she was in it more. About half of the stories are great, a couple of them were merely okay but none of them were actually bad.
