Wer früher stirbt, ist länger tot

#809 - 14 Agustos 08 - sabaha karsi. & bir cocugun gozunden olum cok iyi anlatilmis: "insanlar oluyor cunku olmeseydi bu masada oturacak sandalye kalmazdi!" Ama bataklik sahneleri ile sanki "cocuk" filmi oldugunu hissettiriyor. Filmin tek eksigi bu. Müzikleri cok iyi.

Zany and unique, this is a kid-centric film you may or may not like, but won't forget in a hurry. In all honesty, I think it took me too long to adjust to the Bavarian accents and the director's relentless wackiness. It seemed that the plot only hit its stride with 25 minutes remaining. Thus, it seemed very uneven, but got more satisfying as it went on. The death concept was a bit different. More a film of potential, than of realised success.

Well, acting-wise it's not that great. Or just very ambivalent. And plot and direction are a little incoherent, too. The protagonist's being treated with either random ignorance or sudden affection got kind of annoying as well. Or let's just say someone was a little easy on themselves, narratively speaking. :> But there's some sweet and fun moments as well. But then again, the ending was kinda forced.

Great black humor in a very different kind of movie.
