A well crafted historic picture, but too much like a tribute then a full story, grasping too much for emotions to hit it's aim. With that said, this was definitely one of the better of it's kind from this period. Joel McCrea is likable and give life to this no matter what age he is. Always a high gentle spirit, much helped by his more rugged sidekick Bob Burns. Frances Dee as his girl delivers both the sweetness and also the selfishness. Half-successful big salute to the western express.
