If you didn't think playing with a corpse was hiliarious the first time around, boy will this film not change your opinion.

I watched this as a teenager, so I don't remember much besides steel drums and a split-second of boobs.

Dude that plays Bernie is one talented bastard. Nobody can look as dead as he can when he walks around.

Next time give me the money and I'll make a movie that's better than this. It's easy - I'll just film my dog defecating.

Oh boy. Obviously, the voodoo aspect is offensive, but the worst part is easily the two '70s urban black stereotypes in this movie from 1993. (And they turn out to be... enchanted donkeys? UM.) Makes less sense, with less sympathetic characters, than the first, and that's saying something. The only really fun part: Watching Terry Kiser as a reanimated corpse bopping to the beat of reggae music. One of the hardest-working actors in Hollywood, it seems.

I was sitting watching the credits roll when it struck me that I was watching the credits to Weekend at Bernie's 2 and suddenly I understood nihilism

It's one of those movies where you want to hate it but, in a way, can't help but have a fond nostalgic remembrance of it.

I did enoy the idea from the first movie, but this was just plain stupid. I know in some movies you really have to suspend velief, but this is quite ridiculous. A real waste of time with a laugh here and there.

It’s nice to see the guys again and they feel like they just dropped in from the first. The voodoo thing was pretty much the only way they could revive Bernie for this one, but Kiser’s physicality does make for some amusing moments in this more autonomous role. Never better than okay though, things become increasingly far-fetched, and eventually overly-silly (there’s no way Larry’s a virgin!). Much weaker than the original but almost passable if you’re in an undemanding mood.

Wow, for a dead guy, he's sure holding up well.

Here's another movie that didn't need a sequel. Pass on this. If you loved the first film, like I did, don't ruin the experience by watching this piece of shit, where you have to stretch your believability beyond it's limits.
