Way for a Sailor

gilbert seems more like a womanizing philanderer rather than a romantic sailor here. the majority of the movie is fairly boring, but the end makes up for some of it's faults.

Lovely Hollywood blond Leila Hyams getting stalked by gabbling jerk John Gilbert the sailor! The beloved screen lover is creepy! Just look at his drunken psycho face as he proposes!!! Screw the myth about his voice killing his career. Not a thread of truth to it. It's roles like this that ruined his reputation as a desirable ladies man. Here he's filthy! No gal would want a shit like that.... and so his popularity plummeted. Slow story with a lot of goofing around with booze, brawls and broads!
