Wanted: Dead or Alive

Rutger Hauer plays a lone wolf ex-secret agent taking on a bunch of Arab terrorists planning to blow up a chemical plant in this goofball action flick. Plenty of explosions and one liners, saddled with an unnecessary love interest subplot, but the real draw of this movie is seeing an evil looking Gene Simmons playing the main terrorist Malak Al Rahim. Oh, plus you get to hear Robert Guillaume say fuck about 10 times.

Mostly all style, but the style works. Rutger Hauer plays his usual badass self, Gene Simmons pretends to be an Arab terrorist, this is pure 1980s fun cheesy B-movie stuff that is fun to watch. Doesn't leave much of an impact, though.

It has a few moments, but it's not a keeper even for me, and I consider myself a fan of 80's b-movies. It just lacks inspiration or that special craziness, I look for in this kind of films. Hauer is cool bounty hunter, and whoever wrote the 'The next time you fuck me, kiss me first!' can be proud of himself, but most of the time it's hard to keep attention to this movie.

I enjoyed seeing Hauer as a good guy, for once, and also surprised that the arab terrorist routine was used this early...?
