Another excellently made short with the usual fantastic attention to the very small details. The railway chase scene pretty much completely redefined what was possible with claymation.

The best of the three W&G shorts. The only thing cooler than that penguin is those trousers. God knows how many times I've watched this.

Freaking fantastic. Every scene is blessedly funny and interesting, even the action scene at the end. Feathers McGraw is such a memorable villain, too. "*gasp of surprise* It's you!"

My favourite Wallace & Gromit feature. The animation is really well-done (particularly the train sequence, my god how do they do it?), the antagonist is great, the story is good enough, and as always Peter Sallis gives a heartfelt and amusing performance.

Beautifully animated, wonderfully scored, tightly written, comic genius. It's amazing how much character you can get out of a mouthless dog's eyebrows, and how sinister you can make a mute penguin. The cinematography isn't something one might draw attention to, but it paints each scene beautifully, and really stands out during the seedy alleyway scenes; and that final train sequence - surely one of the most thrilling and amusing climaxes to hit animation. Not a flaw.

This is my favorite of the Wallace and Gromit films, as the full array of visual slapstick humor is deployed to tell a Laurel and Hardy-esque story of criminal mischief. I especially like how expressive the film's silent villainous penguin is, a testament to how evocative the stop motion animation in the film is.

One of the ways you know this is special is just how much emotion this short gets from two characters who never speak. Gromit's emotions are worn on his sleeve and the penguin is one of cinema's best villains, all without saying a single word.

Replaces, in some elements, charm with slightly belaboured clever film references, and the characterisation is a little off to fit the story. That being said it's still entertaining, the amount of expression the film gets out of an expressionless, dot-eyed penguin is amazing, and the lighting effects are brilliant and give the film a real sense of reality which merges well with the handmade aesthetics.

The best of Wallace and Gromit (and that's saying something). The best part is the subtle acting. You have different levels of emoting. Wallace is over expressive and never shuts up. Gromit can only express his emotions through his eyes and movements and then you have the penguin who only expresses how purely evil he is through his movements. Brilliant.

Probably the best of the Wallace & Gromit series, The Wrong Trousers has everything. Not only is the plot well-written and involving, it's full of incidental gags and well-observed titbits that make every minute entertaining. The animation is superb, the love and care taken spreading to the spot-on accompanying sound effects. Would surely garner a higher rating if I hadn't seen it so many times.

Improving vastly on its predecessor vastly both technically and artistically, the Wrong Trousers is undoubtedly a classic and one of the best if not the best Wallace and Gromit film. The character of the penguin is realised brilliantly in a simple but effective way whilst the other characters are still loyal to those seen in a Grand Day Out.
