Wake of Death

watchable

This would be a perfect episode of a tv-series but doesn't work as a movie. The directing, editing and even script shows some home made quality here and there. The only thing that steps up are some actors. If this is the first action movie in your list then it might work better but not the other way around.

An early 2000s action flick with Van Damme and it's about what you'd expect. Nothing awful, but by no means great either, just ok.

One of those low-budget action films where to save on budget they pad the short running time with badly scripted family drama and stock sentimental music and draft in a few god-awful child actors. Not enough action to make it worth a watch

Let's start with minuses: 1.It has some totally unnecessary erotic scenes, but for its defense I must say curtains do cover a lot. 2.Unfortunately, there're too many of them floating on the wind in other scenes (3.it makes the movie look old), as well as 4.Countless freshly lit candles in the bathtub scene. 5.Most of the story is not believable. 6.ALL heroes show no empathy. Pluses: Ummm... 1.The asian motive is not so common... ? No,really,this movie is a crap,don't watch it.Just don't, really.

This plot has been done and beaten to death a bazillion times -- and it takes itself way too seriously. At least Van Damme emotes convincingly.

Shitty melodrama can be pretty amusing in this context. Several scenes were REALLY stupid (which is a good thing...)

Really tired stuff.

It's 'Death Wish' or 'Man on Fire' without much going for it. Van Damme has some solid emotional scenes believe it or not, but as far as action goes, it's all rather low-rent.
