Jeff Curtis (Rod Cameron), a wagon-master on his way to accept the job of leading a pioneer train from Joplin, Missouri to the Oregon territory, picks up Ben Wilkins, a young boy who has run away from the train because train captain Cyrus Cook wouldn't allow him to take his dog on the trip. He meets Ben's sister, Ann, and this leads to a conflict with Cook's nephew, Clay, who has his own plans for Ann that does not include her kid brother and his dog.

This is like Monogram's version of the wagon train genre of westerns. You can see it's shortcomings compared to the the ones from the big studios, but considering this was on a smaller scale, it works rather well with Rod Cameron leading the Wagons West (1952), with good support from Noah Beery Jr. joining the journey. Has all the elements that make these films good, from bad men among the flock, rough terrain and naturally Indian attacks. Packs in a good chunk of action to entertain.
