Wade in the Water

This is a dark comedy about very dark subject manner but it asks a lot of questions that are difficult to answer. While the two main (only) characters are not always particularly well written, each of the actors does a very commendable job at giving life to this odd couple. Worth a watch.

While the film itself isn't particularly remarkable, its social utility cannot be overstated. It should be required viewing for anyone who idly made a death threat online--no matter how loathsome the target. It's a reckoning with what it means to be good in the face of evil and a reconsideration of violence as a punishment. Sure, it's a bit idealized, but it's got such a burning sincerity that you can't help but get carried away with it. A perverse, dark comedy with a clear & admirable purpose.
