Von Ryan's Express

A movie in desperate search of balance and pace. Still some exciting action towards the end.

It's a good war yarn.

Glad I finally got to see this WWII action/drama, starring Sinatra.

Ol' Blue Eyes stars as an American pilot who leads a group of British POW to escape in this enjoyable war-adventure movie. It starts a bit slow, but the movie picks up when they get on the titular express.

Exciting WWII thriller about a group of POWs planning an escape. Solid cast, including Frank Sinatra and Trevor Howard.

A real 'Airfix Generation' film. The casting seems problematic, though, with neither Sinatra nor Howard quite right for their parts.

Procedural yet charismatic warzone escape movie; ending kinda peters out.

It's okay, but nowhere near any of the best war genre movies. I didn't really care about the characters and the story wasn't particularly interesting.

Can't really remember anything of it, but I think I found it entertaining. Give it another spin if I find time.

It wasn't cinema but it wasn't bad, it was just Sinatra's hand at a war film. You could find a worse WW2 film.

Good movie and the last hour was the best, great war-adventure with that German train.

Jesus Christ Sinatra is smooth.

Classic WWII prison escape movie.
