If a word can describe this movie it would be nostalgia, is nice to see a movie about an uncommon subject and characters, also speaks about a time in Spain where a lot of people had interrupted youths. The downside is that it has a slow pace and the acting is not very good, also the edition felt weird but maybe is because I am so used to American movies.

Watch it muted, if at all. That is one terrible, terrible score.

The underlying idea of the film is solid, and it meshes well with the setting of early post-Franco Spain. The execution, on the other hand, is nearly unbearable. Most noticeable is the overbearing score that never lets up, drowning every scene with manufactured emotion. The terrible acting, outside of a solid lead performance, doesn't help matters. It makes the hole thing hollow and trite, and only the occasional comic relief was even mildly worth it.
