On returning to the small town university run by his dictatorial and conservative father his courage fails him when he has to announce things. Viewed November 29, 2020. Stevens' light, unhurried touch in this period of his career makes his movies immensely cozy and likable. Ginger is at her best when she's wrestling Jimmy Stewart's fiance. Genuinely very funny, and almost the equal of Stevens' masterpiece The More the Merrier.

Impossible to go wrong with a romance comedy with gullible James Stewart and vivacious Ginger Rogers! Giggles a plenty! Biggest one of all, Rogers reaction when being caught in a chick fight! One of the most classic moments of 1930s cinema!!! Credit to Beulah Bondi as the as well. There was so much good here. Always a gag with everything and excellent choices on support including a slightly bitchy Franklin Pangborn as a receptionist at a girls boarding home and Willie Best as a emotional porter!
