If Wang Bing were Icelandic and made a fiction film (that's a compliment to Palmason, by the way).

Gorgeous filmmaking let down by a weak, at times clichéd script. Same problem with A White, White Day (which, I had no idea this was the same director until I looked at the IMDb page), I would be happy with a slice-of-life in this setting; the conflict feels unnecessary and overwrought, and there’s not even any payoff. Such a bummer considering how amazing it looks

This one had a very unique mood that kept me interested for the whole duration. I had some issues with the film, but it's been lingering in my memory longer than most films. Solid debut and the director is definitely one to keep an eye on.

Trying too hard though not without some charm.
