Yup, useless. I'd have liked to have seen this on the first Criterion Rohmer DVD instead of the last.

A tedious early short from Rohmer, that makes its irrelevant point (the child who is more astute and clever than the tutor) over and over again. Amusing for 5 minutes, not for 18.

Kinda both cute and boring, but also self-contained enough to create a sort of unique atmosphere where a kid is constantly battling his teacher's lessons -- of math and writing --, exposing how useless they could be in the future and how sometimes these things we learn as kids make no sense -- 'math was made to torture you' lol.

Decent amusing early short by Rohmer about a tutor who gets mixed by the questions and remarks of her young student. Works nicely as an illustration of how not to tutor.

A bit Truffaut.

yet another cool little short by rohmer, this time about all those little issues that arise when trying to teach kids, and also exposing how adults often don't understand the facts they rote learned back in their time. his shorts seem to be underrated.

Fairly well done short about the problems caused by teaching subjects without a clear idea why one is teaching them, or what it is about the subject one really needs to get across.

Not great.
