Netflix recently claimed this movie to be one of the scariest they had on their service, citing internal data that said that most people watched about 70% before getting so frightened that they turned it off. Yeah. That's why, Netflix. Yet despite being far less spine-tingling than corporate executives would have me believe, Veronica did remind me of one thing we must all watch out for--blind fucking nuns. They can see me, man. They can see right through the TV and into my SOUL, man.

I seem to have enjoyed this more than a lot of people. I think it maybe felt underdeveloped to a degree, but there was something in the ambiguity present throughout that hinted at something quite tragic, and it got under my skin. So much of this rests on the fine performance from Escacena; this is a challenging role dealt with very capably, and without becoming overblown or hysterical. Plaza's direction is effective too. Scary in parts, but overall quite human, and rather sad.

Not the most original horror I've ever seen, this owes a lot to many, many others horrors and thrillers, but, my god, it's well done! The performances are strong and serve the oogly-boogly story well, as do the little directorial tricks employed by Paco Plaza.

Moderately effective horror that benefits from very good child casting. It's a bit more interesting if one takes it as an exploration of adolescent mental illness, but the effort made at the beginning and end to remind the viewer that it is supposedly based on a "real case" of supernatural activity undermines that possibility.

First time I ever saw Rayo supporters in a motion picture. Jokes aside, this is mainly generic and from a detailed teen experience as it promises to be, despite the promising start. It really misses the point by not trying to look at it from a police report POV, instead focusing on jump scares and some ambiguity towards the end -- was it all a supernatural mayhem or just a girl having a sad end by having to take care of her three siblings all by herself?

Savors convention but executes the well-worn narrative so well, the familiar tropes are forgivable. A taut script and engrossing performances by pretty much everyone involved make for a nervy ride through a classic ghost story.

Standard but well-done possession story.

I wasn't sure whether to give this 40 or 41. In the end I didn't care.

This is a great addition to the paranormal subgenre of horror. It was very intense and draining.

Not getting all of these bad reviews. Really interesting take on how trauma builds and builds, and how often older siblings are forced to bear the brutn of childcare when they have a single parent.

Very good horror and since based on a true story, even scarier. However, the hype might of hurt it a little for me. It is foreign, so subtitles are the way to go (for me, as I don't like dubbing). That can distract from the content sometimes.

Hey Netflix! Maybe people turned it off because it sucked? Have you ever thought about that?

It's a good film, but not as scary as it is being told. The lead girl was excellent in her role and the other three kids also did their part well. The film does'nt disappoint you. Spoiler The most sad part was the party scene with her friend where she is told that she will die. Also it is sad that she was all alone from the beginning.
