When you've got as strong basic story as The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, you have all aces to make it work fine. The film was shot in five days and all the dialogue was improvised by actors. A quick shooting schedule can be seen as an rough output, but that did not bother, quite opposite. Kari Heiskanen, Pertti Sveholm, Vesa Vierikko and Esko Salminen are all top notch actors.
