Binnur Kaya would get an oscar nomination if this were an American film.. A really good dark comedy, more on the dark side, less on the comedy side.

A dark comedy set in a Turkish rural city, "kasaba". While not without its faults it is very good, especially in contrast to other lame comedies - also this films probably contains the most "evil", selfish character ever seen in a Turkish movie, making it unique. Can't give a higher score because of its clear resemblance to Fargo. I love the ending, how happiness differs for two closely related characters (i.e. husband & wife).

After some sucky entries Taylan bros get on their feet.

This was a nice story of how deprivation and bitterness breed evil with the wonderful background of Eastern Black Sea region of Turkey. All the leads are actors/actresses I love and they all brought their best. The story twists and turns nicely but maybe the best part is when you expect it to turn again it goes straight ahead. It meshes the comedy elements, as most of the leads is known their proficiency in that area, very well too.

I am not a big fan of Turkish cinema, but I enjoyed this one. I wish it had a different ending though.

senaryosu yeterince tatmin ve ikna etmiyor. mutlu son hiç yakışmamış, sırıtmış. yönetmenlik mahareti adına da pek parlak bi şey göremedim. amma lakin Settar Tanrıöğen, Binnur Kaya ve İlker Aksum muhteşem oynamışlar.

Engin Günaydın ve de tabi ki Binnur Kaya yine hayal kırıklığına uğratmadı. Settar Tanrıöğen de muhteşemdim Senaryo daha akıcı olabilirdi. Özellikle filmin ortalarında biraz sıkıldım. Yine de sadece oyunculuk için bile seyretmeye değer.

Not great but decent. A noir interspersed with occasional fun. The noir feeling (which was actually well-crafted) depressed me a bit, rather than stimulating me in a dark way. Also, I know that it may have diminished the noir feeling, but I was left hungry for more comedy. Never mind. I did laugh, and the cast is equally great in both genres. As for the directing: aside from the generally good craftsmanship, there was one scene in the second half that was very interesting cinematically.

Excellent performances by Kaya, Gunaydin and Tanriogen.

Her ne kadar basarili bir giris ve gelisme bolumu sunsa da bize, son 15 dakikasiyla hayal kirikligi da yaratti. Binnur Kaya gene mukemmel. Izlenesi bir film.

Her zamanki gibi pek is yapamayan nadir kaliteli yerli filmlerden biri. Bu yüzden Engin Günaydin'in sinemaya küsmemesini umut ediyorum.
