Vamps

Fun stuff. Great costumes. Krysten Ritter hotness.

This film's tone is all over the place. The movie does not quite work as a comedy or a vampire movie. The cast try their best with their roles but can't overcome a very uneven script. Overall this movie is disappointing.

Vamps has no purpose and isn't very entertaining, but still gets points for casually dropping the term schmohawk in dialogue. Amy Heckerling churns out a bit of witty writing. The movie got better after I jacked up the speed to 1.5x, but then I had to increase it to 1.8x to stay interested and then my router couldn't keep up so I quit watching it. This movie made a total domestic gross of $3,361.

Heckerling is a much better writer than she is a director.

An interesting movie for sure. First of all the best part of this movie was seeing the PETA champion Alicia Silverstone drinking blood out of a straw that is stuck into a dead rat's neck. The image will forever stay in my mind and make me smile. Krysten Ritter is probably the most beautiful female vampire I have ever seen. I also fully believe that Malcolm McDowell will be in any show or movie he is invited to be on. This movie was quirky and pretty fun.

Richard Lewis, Malcolm McDowell, Sigourney Weaver, and Wallace Shawn all in one movie? Yes please! Not only does Silerverstone deliver a fabulous monologue about proletarianization (in the Stielgerian sense), but we're also treated to a hilarious transition from a joke about Al Jolson and more specifically 'My Mammy' to a joke about Ritter in brown face. Heckerling's love for cinema is evident. Score may improve with additional viewings.

Yep, is kind of bland but it has some almost funny moments. It could have been better if not for the Romantic Comedy.

No dull romance with a couple of jokes for the trailer, an actual comedy. A quality comedic cast poke fun at dozens of vampire tropes before getting a bit soppy at the end. Slightly dated look to it worked, may just be AH's style. Consistently fun, if not always funny, cute.
