Podría ser mejor, pero no fue así.

Thrives on the interplay between the suspense of U.S. immigration officials giving Diego and Elena a hard time (which I can identify with - I've been there!) and the integrity of the couple's relationship, whose history the interrogation gradually exposes. I can't say that I was ever fully convinced, because it's hard to shake the cognizance that the questions they're being asked are designed to drive the narrative forward, but it's still a neat idea quite well executed.

Tense, small-scale non-violent thriller about coming to America.

Arch and artificial two (four?) hander is an interesting idea under developed – though Trump is evoked, it doesn’t seem to be about his brand of immigration policies and doesn’t have much to say about immigration politics on a grander scale, resting on generalisations about the pettiness of bureaucracy, which lack bite when it becomes clear that no one has entered this scenario with “clean hands”. Remains watchable, largely thanks to the performers, especially Gómez’s formidable inquisitor.
