Unlocking the Cage

Kind of hard to watch a group of basically all white people try to make this case that animals would have these rights as people when we as a nation are locking up so many people, so many children, separating families with no due process and no quality of life. The quality of life of these apes is clearly higher than that of migrants in detention. And as people like to forget this was already happening under the Obama administration when this doc was being made.

The huge amounts of ego and politics in american courts -while not the films fault- are every bit as ugly as the abuse the film's about. Does paint a picture of progress being made, be interesting to see the hinted-at follow-ups.
